Changelog

Pre-releases are not listed here. Publishing a stable replaces the beta update feed, so betas are not archived. See GitHub Releases for them.

1.0.3

  • Automatic update checks now start when Orthant launches. Until now they began only once the Settings window had been opened in that session, so an Orthant left running from login was never offered an update.
  • Text in the app no longer uses em dashes.

1.0.2

  • Shortcut labels follow your keyboard layout. On Dvorak, Canadian, AZERTY or a Cyrillic layout, the key shown in Settings is the key printed on your keyboard, and it updates the moment you switch input source. Existing shortcuts keep firing from the same physical keys.
  • Shortcuts can now use punctuation, function keys, Home, End, Page Up, Page Down, Forward Delete and the numeric keypad.
  • The grid works with VoiceOver: opening it announces the captured window and the grid size, each move announces the selected cells and target size, and Move, Extend, Place window and Cancel are exposed as actions.
  • The update feed links each earlier release to its own download again.

1.0.1

  • Automatic update checks can now be turned off in Settings.
  • Update notifications show the release’s name rather than its build number.

1.0.0

First stable release.

  • Save any selection as a named custom region with its own shortcut.
  • Rebindable shortcuts, adjustable grid size and gaps, launch at login.
  • Signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
