The app

Orthant has no account and sends no telemetry or account identifier. Your shortcuts, regions and settings stay on your Mac.

Its only network access is checking for updates, which requests updates.orthant.app. That request carries no Orthant identifier, but like any HTTP request it necessarily exposes your IP address and user agent to the server. Installing an update then downloads the disk image from github.com. Automatic update checks can be turned off in Settings ▸ About.

This website

This site sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts: its Content Security Policy allows scripts and styles from this origin only. There is no analytics beacon and no cross-site identifier. Like any web server, the host receives the IP address and user agent of each request in order to answer it.

Downloads

Downloads from this site and from the app's updater alike are served by GitHub. Clicking a download link sends a request to github.com, which receives it under GitHub's own privacy statement.
